Our Trust

Education is the basic ingredient of all types of development in the society. Educated girls are the backbone of any society. The western part of Rajasthan is economically and educationally under developed. Way back in last decade of last century the conditions of girls education in such families was pathetic and there was very little scope for girls education.Shri Nandkishore Sharda and Maa Basanti Manihar came as savior of these girls. For the Welfare of such deprived girls they started the Swami Vivekanand Students Welfare Charitable Trust on June 10, 1996 with the blessings of Maa Tripurasundari. Maa Basanti Manihar was the founder and Shri Sharda was the first president of the Trust. At that time women empowerment in this part was unheard. After Shri Nandkishore Sharda left for the heavenly abode in 2003, Maa Basanti Manihar took charge as its president and held this responsibility till 2021 beffore leaving for heavenly abode. Since, 2021, Kumari Madhubala Advani is the President of the trust. This Trust is basically for girls studying in schools.

The main guiding principles of the Trust are:

  • No girl wishing to study should be deprived of education for want of money irrespective of her marks, religion, caste, etc.
  • The financial support is exclusively need-based.
  • Administrative expenses are kept as low as possible. They are voluntarily borne by the trustees. Accounts of all the trusts are annually audited and Income Tax exemption under Article 80G has been obtained.
  • Not only trust imparts financial support for education but also act as catalyst for their overall personality development so that they can make a place of pride in society.
  • Education sans morality and ‘sanskar’ is dangerous. Therefore, they should be taught their duties along with their rights so that they can be responsible citizens and contribute to the development of the country

In what ways is this trust different from others:

  • No girl wishing to study should be deprived of education for want of money irrespective of her marks, religion, caste, etc.
  • We are the ONLY TRUST to provide financial support for education to needy girls to a wide range of schools (35) and colleges (18) of Jodhpur and Barmer districts of Rajasthan.
  • The financial support is exclusively need-based. Financial Support provided to the needy girls irrespective of their academic record, religion, caste, etc.
  • The selection of the needy students is made by the class teacher through their application forms recommended by the Principal to the trust. The payment of School fees, Board fees and Scholarships are also made through cheques in the name of school. The whole amount is distributed amongst the students in the presence of higher authorities of the education department.
  • Administrative expenses are kept as low as possible. They are voluntarily borne by the trustees.
  • Not only trust imparts financial support for education but also teach morality and ‘sanskar’ through personality development sessions that includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development.
  • These academically poor students when joined the Trust and Sanskar classes exhibited marvelous work and excelled in their academic records due to sincere efforts and guidance of the Trust members.
  • There was marked improvement in the academic achievements of these girls. These girls never looked back and now they are moving ahead with confidence and ability to face future challenges in life.
  • Trust provides guidance and support for the overall growth of the girls. Therefore, they are taught about their duties along with their rights so that they can be responsible citizens and contribute to the development of the country.
  • These students equipped with education and Sanskar are now ready to face future challenges.
  • Most of the Trusts provide financial support only. The unique feature of the trust is a strong professional backup support. This trust provides financial support and opportunity for overall growth. Trust develops a sense of belongingness among all the girls. They consider themselves as a member of this trust family, where highly qualified educated and renowned members of the trust, in different walks of life, provide strong and powerful professional back up support not only during education period but interviews, career counselling and during their entire life.
