Maa Basanti Manihar honored by Chief Minister of Rajasthan for her selfless contribution in women empowerment
1997-2002
Bhaiya Shri Nandkishore Sharda and Maa Basanti Manihar carried out this work in mission mode, and not for any fame or financial benefits. This trust was awarded the prestigious State level Bhamashah Award five consecutive times (1999-2003) by the Government of Rajasthan for its selfless service. Besides, they were felicitated and honoured by various organizations for their contribution towards women empowerment. They did not consider these awards as a personal honour, but considered them as an award for those underprivileged and disadvantaged girl students who are paving their way out through extremely difficult situations. They dedicated the credit for the success of the trust to these girl students. In order to honour him, and keep his memories forever and inspire the masses, the government, in 2012, decided to name a road in his honour. The Fifth to Twelfth Pal Road, Sardarpura, Jodhpur has been named “Nandkishore Sharda Marg” in his honor. Similarly, in 2013, a road was named 'Adhyatmayogi Shri Nandkishore Sharda Marg' in Balotra (Barmer district) in his honour, and in the year 2022, a road has been named “Yugpravartak Shri Nandkishore Sharda” in Jasol town of Barmer district in his honour."
